Constant of life
“Trees as the quintessence of life. People from different eras pass by them. People from different eras who will never meet — unless in art. These trees connect these people — their lives are intertwined like roots”.
Constant
of life project explores the phenomenon of life through the observation
of Czech trees, which are famous for their age and under the state
protection. I chose three trees in Prague and took their photos
in my unique style: London planetree (200 years) in Jezerka park, Ginkgo
biloba (161 years) in Botanical Garden UK and London planetree (170
years) in Charles Square. The thought of the lack of conditioning
in which these trees grow inspired me to compare them with the flow
of life. Trees are outside social relations, outside culture, outside
the historical era — they stay the same all the time and they will
be all the time. Therefore life, despite various catastrophes,
totalitarian regimes, genocide, epidemics of disease, is always present
and always continues. The photos are decorated in the form of digital
personal diaries, which is also my author’s technique and the element
of my style Conversations with Life. Books, diaries — this medium
is a way to convey a piece of wisdom that runs through the years.
